Atfer turning up at the wrong ground (apologies guys) which delayed kick off, Shanklin soon began to dominate the match opening the scoring with a left foot shot from Billy inside the box following a corner. A few minutes later Morgan ran on to a through ball from Luke H and bravely lobbed the keeper just before they collided. Following another corner the ball came out from the pealty area and Billy picked it up, beat one player and hit a ferocious 25 yard shot which went into the top left hand corner of the West Wight net.
West Wight rallied in the second half and were much more competative. They pulled a couple of goals back and the game became an end to end drama. Shanklin went 4-2 up when Dylan calmly slotted the ball past their keeper after being put through by Lewis. West Wight were not to be beaten and came back at Shanklin to pull another goal back. Morgan restored the two goal advantage a few minutes later but again West Wight fought back with a fierce 20 yard goal. Dylan finally put the game to rest scoring in the last couple of minutes to make it 6-4. Well done lads, great game.
